PROTECTING RIGHTS, PRESERVING FUTURES
When your future, freedom, and reputation are on the line, you deserve an advocate who is prepared to stand firmly in your corner and fight for the best possible outcome.
Morgan Chilton founded her practice on a simple but unwavering belief that every person accused of a crime deserves a defense rooted in preparation, strategy, and genuine advocacy. That belief wasn’t formed in theory, but through real courtroom experience and standing beside clients when the stakes were highest.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Troy University and her Juris Doctor from Samford University Cumberland School of Law, Morgan began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Missouri State Public Defender. There, she represented individuals across a wide range of cases, from lower-level offenses to more serious charges, gaining hands-on experience where it matters most: in the courtroom.
During her time as a public defender, Morgan handled contested hearings, conducted jury trials, and worked closely with clients navigating diversion programs such as drug court and mental health court. She saw firsthand how the justice system impacts real people and families—and how meaningful, strategic advocacy can change the trajectory of a case and a life.
In addition to her criminal defense work, Morgan also worked as a civil rights attorney, advocating for individuals whose constitutional rights had been violated. This experience deepened her commitment to holding institutions accountable and protecting the fundamental freedoms guaranteed under the law.
That experience shaped Morgan’s approach to defense. She understands that effective representation is not just about knowing the law—it’s about preparation, attention to detail, and the willingness to stand firm when it counts. Morgan recognizes the importance of preparedness, as readiness can fundamentally shift the outcome of a case.
For Morgan Chilton, criminal defense is not just a profession—it is a commitment to standing between her clients and the full force of the government, and to pursuing the best possible outcome with diligence, integrity, and purpose. Morgan stands firm in her belief that everyone is entitled to a right to zealous representation. As such, proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) expands accessibility and fosters meaningful communications with Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients.
Through diligent preparation, attentive advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to justice, Morgan Chilton strives to provide effective, compassionate, and results-driven representation for every client served.
